Mangaluru, August 15, 2026: Rohan Corporation India Private Limited, one of Mangaluru's leading real estate developers, celebrated India's 80th Independence Day with flag-hoisting ceremonies across its landmark developments, the principal programme held at Rohan Square, Capitanio, Mangaluru. The occasion brought together residents, staff, invitees and the winners of the drawing competition organised as part of the celebrations.

The national flag was hoisted by veteran agriculturist Mr. Jack Anil in the presence of Rohan Corporation’s Managing Director Dr. Rohan Monteiro, Director Mr. Dion Monteiro, General Manager Mrs. Sumana and special guest Mr. M.K Ali, formally commencing the Independence Day celebration.

'Krishi Vrukshanweshaka Sadhaka' Award for Jack Anil

A key highlight of the programme was the presentation of the 'Krishi Vrukshanweshaka Sadhaka' Award to Jack Anil, recognising his sustained efforts in promoting traditional agricultural practices, preserving indigenous varieties of jackfruit, and creating greater awareness around plant diversity. Through his work, he has helped keep valuable agricultural knowledge and plant heritage alive for future generations.

Addressing the gathering in the presidential address, Dr. Rohan Monteiro, Managing Director and founder of Rohan Corporation, said: "Independence Day is a moment to reflect on how far our country has come and the responsibility we carry towards its future. Freedom Palette 2026 winners felicitated

The celebration also saw the culmination of Freedom Palette 2026, Rohan Corporation's Independence Day drawing competition held on the theme "The Coast in the Story of India." Winners were selected from the 60 finalists who competed in the Final Round at Rohan City, Bejai, with entries evaluated by jury partner Pixncil Studio. The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates on stage:

Flags were also hoisted at Rohan City Square, M.G. Road, Ballalbagh, and Rohan High Crest, Kadri, with residents and staff in attendance. The occasion brought together residents and employees in a shared celebration of the national spirit, making Independence Day a celebration not only of the Tricolor but also of the people and values it represents.
